About Monopatia

Monopatia (Μονοπάτια — "trails" in Greek) is a free, open guide to hiking across Cyprus. Browse 183 trails with distances, elevation profiles, GPS routes, difficulty ratings, photos, and an interactive map covering all corners of the island — from coastal walks in Akamas to mountain routes in Troodos.

The trail catalogue is curated and continuously refined by Ivan Agafonov based on field research and trusted Cyprus hiking sources. The site is built and maintained by Vladimir Bugay as a companion to Fragmata, the Cyprus reservoir-monitoring dashboard.

What you can do here

Search and filter trails by district, type (circular or linear), difficulty, and themed collections like Mountains, Seaside, and Waterfalls.
Find trails near you — the Near Me page sorts trails by distance and estimated drive time from your current or chosen location.
Explore individual trails with detailed pages: distance, elevation gain and loss, difficulty rating, GPS route, elevation profile with grade bands, GPX download, photo galleries, visitor reviews, and links to Google Maps and the official trail page.
Track your hikes with Strava — sign in with your Strava account to bookmark trails you want to do, mark completions, and let Monopatia auto-match your Strava activities to trails you've already hiked. Verified completions appear on a public leaderboard.
