Fraktis Prodromou spreads through the forest beside Prodromos Dam, high on the Troodos massif at 1,580 metres. The turning is on the Troodos Square – Prodromos road, about five kilometres from Troodos Square. It is a big site — room for nearly 400 people — with barbecue hearths, tables, toilets, a children's playground, and wheelchair-accessible facilities under the trees.
One practical warning repeated by both the official data and local guides: there is no drinking water at the site, so bring your own. The reward is the setting — the forest-ringed reservoir on one side, the green of the woodland all around, and cool mountain air at almost 1,600 metres.
The trails could hardly start closer. The two Prodromos Dam - Stavroulia routes (short and long) begin about four hundred metres from the site, and the Prodromos - Zoumi pair (short and long) starts some seven hundred metres away — four options straight from the picnic tables.
