The Agia Tilliria Trail is a substantial hike through the rugged northwest Paphos Forest that combines dramatic gorge scenery with historical intrigue and coastal views. The 8.8 km out-and-back route winds through pine-clad valleys and passes the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Agios Theodoros, an abandoned village that speaks to the land's layered human history. As the path unfolds, you'll cross traditional wooden bridges and navigate diverse terrain that opens to sweeping vistas over deep gorges and, in the distance, the shimmering Mediterranean Sea. The trail feels properly wild and remote, making it ideal for hikers who want to venture beyond easier coastal options and experience Cyprus's untamed interior.

The route begins on a gravel road before revealing more technical footing as you descend into the gorge system. The presence of Agios Theodoros ruin, with its evocative sense of abandonment, gives the landscape a contemplative quality. Pine forests shade much of the walk, while viewpoints across the gorges provide dramatic perspective on the region's geological character.

This is a hike for those comfortable with longer distances and modest elevation changes—about 406 meters of ascent and descent are distributed across the full journey, making it steady rather than punishing. The combination of forest, ruins, gorges, and distant sea views makes this one of the northwest's most rewarding full-day walks.

Great

Definitely worth getting there. One of the top-5 trails in the island: green, mountains and sea, ruins, mouflon bones and skulls - everything you need.
