Chrysovrysi
The Chrysovrysi natural trail is a hidden gem nestled in the Troodos Mountains, featuring a remarkable 1.6 km downhill descent through pristine forest within the Troodos National Forest Park. This moderate trail descends from 1,308 metres through dense pine and endemic golden oak woodland, offering an immersive connection with the forest environment and creating "stepping into the very soul of the forest." The compact distance and downhill nature make it ideal for hikers of various abilities seeking an intimate woodland experience. The trailhead is located 7 km before Troodos square on the Karvounas-Troodos road, just 300 metres from Chrysovrysi Spring.
This linear route showcases towering pines and endemic golden oak species throughout its descent, with the trail almost entirely protected within the Natura 2000 designated area. Both ends of the trail are accessible by car, allowing for flexible hiking options including one-way hikes with transportation or roundtrip excursions.
