Palaichori - Papoutsa

An exciting and challenging ascent to Papoutsa, the 3rd highest peak in Cyprus at 1,554 meters. This 6.1-kilometer route features steep mountain terrain with rewarding 360-degree panoramic views across Nicosia, Limassol, and Larnaca districts. The trail takes approximately 3 hours 30 minutes and offers multiple route options starting from different villages (Palaichori, Agios Theodoros, or Agios Constantinos). Papoutsa stands uniquely among Cyprus peaks for having no radar station or lookout tower, only a small sanctuary and summit cross. Rocky and slippery sections require careful footing, particularly along the ridgeline approach.
