The Spilia - Moutti tis Choras trail is a short 1.3 km route in the Madari region connecting the village of Spilia with the Moutti tis Choras viewpoint—a strategic mountain crossroads at the junction of paths to Kannavia, Lagoudera, and Kyperounta. This brief walk offers exceptional panoramic views and serves as the gateway to the larger Madari circular trail network, which includes the famous fire lookout station at Madari Peak (1,613 meters). The hike is moderately easy and ideal as a quick outing or as the opening segment of a longer mountain hiking adventure.

Moutti tis Choras itself is a spectacular vantage point where multiple forest paths converge, offering 360-degree views across the Troodos foothills. This strategic location has been hiked for centuries as pilgrims and travelers moved between mountain villages. The nearby Mavra Dasi virgin forest—a pristine woodland of Troodos cedar (latzies)—adds ecological significance to the area. The site is also part of the E4 European Long-Distance Trail, connecting Portugal to Cyprus.

This short walk works perfectly as a prelude to exploring the full Madari network or as a standalone quick summit experience. The combination of junction significance, panoramic vistas, and trail network connections make it a useful waypoint in the Troodos Mountains hiking system.

Great

Decent trail with a few steep and short climbs. Someone has built a house right on the trail, so don't be surprised.
