The Chantara waterfall is a short and rewarding 1.1 km walk to a spectacular 8-metre waterfall plunging over rocky cliffs and forming a small natural pool in the forest on the Trooditissa River north of Foini village in Limassol. This easy, accessible trail takes just 15–20 minutes to reach the falls and is surrounded by diverse Mediterranean vegetation including plane trees, pines, oaks, and fragrant herbs like sage and lavender. The waterfall is particularly dramatic in spring when water flow is at its peak, and the rocky pool at its base offers a refreshing dip or paddle during warmer months. It is an ideal choice if you want a quick, rewarding waterfall experience with minimal exertion and the chance to cool off in a natural forest pool.

The remains of a historic watermill stand nearby, with carved steps visible on the adjacent rock face, adding a human dimension to the natural landscape. The vegetation creates a sheltered, intimate setting, and the sound of cascading water makes the short approach feel immersive and special. Multiple access routes (from Foini, Trooditissa Monastery, or Pano Platres) provide flexibility depending on where you are in the region.

Best visited in spring for maximum water flow and vibrant vegetation, though autumn also offers pleasant conditions and beautiful seasonal colours.
