Kourdali to Limeria is a 3.6km linear hike through pine forest that passes historic hideouts from Cyprus's 1955–59 freedom struggle and cave features known as the "Spilies tou Digeni." The moderate trail descends through rich forest vegetation with connections to other Madari region trails, offering both natural beauty and historical significance. Access is via dirt road from Spilia village, and the route features the Cave of Athasias, believed to be an ancient mineral-mining site.

The trail traverses terrain deeply connected to Cyprus's recent history. During the island's independence struggle against British colonial rule (1955–59), fighters of the EOKA organization used remote mountain hideouts and caves to evade authorities and continue their activities. The "Spilies tou Digeni" (Digenis caves) represent one category of these refuges – natural cave systems adapted for human use and concealment. Walking through these landscapes allows hikers to literally experience the historical terrain where dramatic events unfolded just decades ago, making the trail a unique combination of nature walk and historical narrative.

The Cave of Athasias, located along the route, represents an entirely different historical layer – evidence of ancient mining activity, possibly for minerals or metals extracted for trade or local use. The cave's construction and features suggest sophisticated understanding of geology and engineering among ancient peoples. The surrounding pine forest has provided shelter and resources continuously across these different historical periods, from ancient miners through medieval inhabitants to 20th-century freedom fighters. The trail's connections to other Madari-area hiking routes (including Madari–Doxa Soi o Theos, Teisia Madari, and others) create opportunities for extended mountain experiences combining nature, history, and cultural exploration.
