The Trooditissa – Phini Trail is a scenic linear route through the Troodos National Forest Park that combines monastery, river, waterfall, and village in one of the region’s more appealing mid-length walks. Starting from the Platres – Prodromos road, it follows a forest road towards Foini, crossing the Trooditissa River and passing the impressive Chantara waterfall, one of the route’s main highlights. The trail also runs beside vertical cliffs and keeps opening views towards the village along the way. It is a very strong choice if you want a Troodos hike with water, forest, and a rewarding village finish.

Because the route stays within a Natura 2000 area, it also carries a strong ecological identity. The source specifically mentions plants such as Calabrian pine, strawberry tree, and the endemic golden oak, which add to the feeling of walking through one of Cyprus’ richer mountain landscapes.

This is a route that balances accessibility with real scenic payoff. It should appeal to walkers who want more variety than a simple forest road but do not need a highly strenuous mountain hike.

Great

Nice trail for afternoon too. You can start from the village and go up first, or from monastery and go down first. Village is very cozy and has a taverna.
