The Agridia picnic site sits at almost 1,100 metres in the Pitsilia high country, on the edge of a village known for its farming terraces of vines, fruit trees, walnuts, and almonds. It is an unusually crafted spot for a mountain picnic ground: alongside the tables and barbecue area run an artificial stream with a small waterfall, plus stone drinking fountains, toilets, a playground, and even a small amphitheatre.
The site is stitched directly into the village's walking network. The Rodio of Agridia trail — named after the pomegranate, one of the community's oldest cultivated trees — passes right through the picnic grounds in both its linear and circular versions, on its way between the Pomegranate Park and the Agridia water dam. The Diosmides - Geratzia and Dimes - Pelendri routes both start about a kilometre and a half away, so the site works as a genuine hiking base as well as a lunch stop.
Climbing on through the pines, the trail reaches the fresco-covered chapel of Prophet Elias, whose stony courtyard serves as an observation point over Madari and Papoutsa, the Kouris dam, and Akrotiri bay.
