Monashilaka is a forest picnic site at 737 m in the hill country above Pano Panagia, on the southern fringe of Paphos Forest. With space for around 500 visitors, barbecue hearths, a playground, and an accessible layout, it is one of the better-equipped stops in this remote stretch of forest — though there is no drinking water on site, so come with your own supply.
Among hikers the spot is best known as a road-head on the long route between Panagia and Kykkos: the Kykkos - Panagia - Chrysorrogiatissa trail passes within a kilometre, and Monashilaka serves as an alternative starting point that shortens the through-hike, with the first stretch following a forest road that doubles as part of the E4 European path.
Closer at hand, the Moutti ton Anemon Path starts less than 400 m away, the Gefyria trail is about a kilometre off, and the Vouni trail roughly 1.5 km — so even a lazy picnic day here can include a proper leg-stretcher.
