The Kyparissia Trail is a scenic circular route in the Limassol district that combines distinctive geology, cypress woodland, and far-reaching views. The area is shaped by serpentinite and other rocks associated with the Troodos Ophiolite Complex, which gives the landscape a more unusual geological identity than many village trails. The upper part of the route is closely associated with cypress trees, and from Moutti tis Kyparissias the views stretch towards Limassol, the Akrotiri salt lake, and the Germasogeia dam. It is an excellent choice for walkers who want a route that feels botanical, geological, and panoramic all at once.
The forestry guide also notes a second linear option that branches towards Foinikaria, but the main trail is the circular route. Along the way, visitors encounter a rich variety of endemic plants, common Mediterranean shrubs, and a good range of birds, mammals, and reptiles.
This trail has a strong all-round nature-study quality without sacrificing views. It should especially appeal to hikers who enjoy looking closely at the landscape rather than just covering distance.
