Tochni
The Tochni Trail is a short circular walk of about 3.2 km around the village of Tochni in Larnaca District, roughly halfway between Larnaca and Limassol. The loop climbs and descends about 70 metres in total, between roughly 83 and 138 metres above sea level, so it is gentle underfoot and easy to fit into a morning. It starts right by the village and returns to the same point.
Tochni is known for its stone houses and its agrotourism, and its main Orthodox church, dedicated to Saints Constantine and Helena, stands on a bridge in the village centre. The route is labelled as a church walk, which fits a place where the village churches are the main sights. The Neolithic settlement at Choirokoitia is only about 2.2 km away, so the two can be combined into one outing: see Choirokoitia.
Be ready for sun. Our shade model gives about 10.9 hours of direct sun at midsummer, with almost no tree cover along the loop. Choose the cooler months or an early morning start, and bring water and a hat.
