Almyrolivado is one of the largest organised picnic sites in the Troodos range, set at almost 1,600 m right off the Karvounas – Troodos road, about 2.5 km before Troodos square. The Department of Forests lists room for well over a thousand visitors, with tables and benches spread through the black pine forest, drinking water, BBQ hearths, toilets and a children's playground — though no facilities adapted for reduced mobility.
What makes the site special is the large fenced meadow beside it: a peat grassland that is a rare habitat in Cyprus, protected behind its fence so the fragile turf survives. Young cedars have been planted among the surrounding pines, and at this altitude the air stays pleasantly cool even in high summer.
Almyrolivado also works well as a walking base. The E4 European path and the Kannoures - Agios Nikolaos Stegis trail pass about 1.3 km away, and the trailheads of Kampos tou Livadiou and Persephone are roughly 1.4 km from the tables.
