Kavallarkas is a tiny, half-hidden picnic spot high on the slopes of Papoutsa, at just over 1,000 m, clinging to the steep side of the Palaichorkatis stream valley. You reach it on the road that climbs out of Palaichori towards Agros, about 1.5 km after the right-hand turnoff for Aska. Signage is sparse, and the site is easy to drive past without ever suspecting it exists — the narrow valley keeps it very small, better suited to a quiet stop than a big gathering.
The walking around it is the real draw. The Palaichori - Papoutsa trail passes about 800 m away, Pano Ambelia starts just over a kilometre off, and both Papoutsa - Eagle’s Nest and Palaichori - Appis begin within about 2.7 km — a handy pause point for a day on the Papoutsa ridges.
