Kapoura is a shaded picnic ground in the Adelfoi forest, tucked into a narrow wooded valley between the villages of Kannavia and Agios Georgios Kafkalou, about 2 km from Vyzakia. It borrows its name from the small village of Kapoura, abandoned after 1976 — the name itself is thought to come from a humble native plant, the sedge Cyperus rotundus. Pines, cypresses and cedars close the valley in overhead, with plane trees, willows and alders along the stream and wild roses growing through the picnic area itself.
It is a properly equipped family site: wooden tables and benches, barbecue grills, drinking fountains, toilets and a playground with slides, swings and tunnels, plus a forest station right there and room for well over a hundred picnickers. For a walk before lunch, the Agios Georgios Kafkalou trail starts about 1.5 km away and the Xyliatos trail about 2.5 km; the Selladi tou Karamanli - Kannavia and Agia Irini - Limeria routes begin within a 4.5 km drive.
