Komititzi is one of the quieter, more remote picnic sites of Paphos Forest, tucked into the Platys valley at 581 m between Milikouri and Kaminaria. Getting there is part of the experience: the site lies on the Pedoulas – Kykkos forest road network, about 10 km from Kykkos Monastery through Milikouri, so the approach itself is a slow, scenic forest drive. With an official capacity of a little over 200 people, it stays small and calm even by forest-site standards.
Facilities are deliberately simple — barbecue hearths are provided, but there is no drinking water on site, so bring everything you need with you. That simplicity is exactly what draws people here: this is a spot for a long, unhurried day deep in the forest rather than a quick roadside stop.
For hikers the location is remarkable: the E4 European long-distance path passes right at the edge of the site, and within a couple of kilometres you can pick up the Lemithou - Agios Georgios trail or the Kaminaria - Selladi tou Adoni - Diarzos river route. The trailhead of Kalopanayiotis - The Discovery Trail (5) is also nearby, making Komititzi a natural base for a full walking day in this corner of the forest.
