Kornos is one of the easiest picnic sites in Cyprus to reach: it sits among the pines of the Kornos forest plantation just off the Nicosia – Limassol motorway, about 2 km beyond Kornos village at exit 11. At 360 m this is low-country forest between the hills of the Larnaca district, which makes it a favourite quick escape for families from Nicosia, Larnaca, and Limassol alike, with an official capacity of around 650 visitors.
It is also one of the better-equipped sites on the island — described as among the most organized picnic grounds in Cyprus. Tables and barbecue hearths are spread through the pines, there is drinking water and toilets, a well-kept playground with plenty of equipment, and the layout is wheelchair-accessible. On winter weekends it fills up accordingly.
Walkers have options too: the E4 European path passes under half a kilometre from the site, and a short drive away the Agia Varvara - Stavrovouni and Stavrovouni trails climb toward the historic monastery peak, with the Delikipos Forest trail on the other side.
