Petra tou Romiou is a coastal picnic site in the Paphos district, set just back from the famous shoreline of the same name — the sea-stack coast known in myth as the birthplace of Aphrodite. At about 44 m of altitude it is very much a sea-level stop rather than a forest one, laid out for around 96 people with drinking water and wheelchair-accessible facilities; there are no barbecue hearths here, so this is a place to pause and take in the view rather than to grill.
Its great advantage is position. The Petra tou Romiou nature trail begins right beside the site, barely 50 m away, so the tables double as a natural start or finish for the walk along this dramatic stretch of coast. For a longer outing, the Genesis Aphrodite's trail lies a few kilometres off.
