Kalopanayiotis - The Vineyard Trail (3)

The Kalopanayiotis Vineyard Trail is a fuller, more physical village circuit that combines ravines, pine forest, old settlement traces, and restored vines. Its middle section is the defining challenge, climbing steeply through dense forest towards the Anelikos saddle before opening back out over the cultivated mountainside. That shift from woodland effort to vineyard landscape gives the hike a strong sense of progression. It is a great choice for walkers who want a moderately demanding trail with both natural and agricultural character.

The route begins by ascending above the old settlement area of Troullinos, where remnants of former orchards and ruins still mark the landscape. Later, the trail reconnects with the restored vineyards of Kalopanayiotis and passes the village winery before returning via the wider trail network.

This is one of the more varied Marathasa routes because it constantly changes mood and setting. It should especially appeal to hikers who like trails that tell a story about how land use and mountain terrain meet.
