The Kalopanayiotis Vineyard Trail (3A) is the long, demanding version of one of the area’s most varied mountain-village hikes. It combines old orchard land, ruined settlement traces, dense pine forest, a hard climb towards the Anelikos saddle, and a long return through restored vineyard country. Because of its length and elevation, it feels much more like a full-day mountain expedition than a village loop. It is an excellent choice for strong hikers who want one of the most complete and challenging routes in the wider Marathasa trail network.

The route expands on Trail 3 by adding a longer northern section beyond the saddle, while preserving the sections that make the original trail memorable. The old Troullinos settlement landscape, forest ascent, and vineyard restoration story are all still central to the experience.

This is a hike for people who enjoy endurance, changing scenery, and a real sense of terrain. It offers one of the richest combinations of agriculture, forest, and mountain-scale walking around Kalopanayiotis.
