The Agros – Kato Mylos Trail is a circular walk through the picturesque Pitsilia mountain region that captures the heart of Cyprus's traditional rose and fruit-growing landscape. This 6.3 km route takes approximately two hours and winds through fields of cherry trees, pear orchards, and the famous rose gardens of Agros, which produce the region's celebrated rosewater. The path passes through mixed terrain including sections of native forest with centuries-old oaks, moving between cultivated agricultural areas and wild woodland to create a mosaic of color and character. The views across the surrounding hills feel spacious and inviting, while the cultural element—walking among productive tradition—adds dimension beyond scenic beauty. This is an excellent choice if you want to experience working Cyprus rather than just wilderness, and to understand the landscape through the eyes of those who cultivate it.

The trail begins near the Rodon Hotel in Agros and concludes with a paved section returning to the village, making logistics straightforward. The mix of rose gardens, fruit trees, and forest gives the walk seasonal variety—spring brings cherry blossoms, while summer highlights the rose harvest season. Kato Mylos sits at 700 meters on the slopes of Papoutsa mountain, ensuring cooler walking conditions even in peak summer.

The presence of red mushrooms in season and the centuries-old oaks add naturalistic interest to what might otherwise be purely agricultural terrain. This walk feels connected to real village life and local economy rather than separated from it.

Great

Did it mid August in the morning. Quite nice narrow paths for big parts. Downhill in the beginning actually challenging because rather steep and gravelly. Last 2 km uphill on tarmac road, but no cars. Rating easy for distance, yes. But downhill rather moderate.

Great

This trail had one the best conditions in this area: not overgrown, not damaged by rains. About half of the trail is a path, the other half: asphalt, concrete and ground roads. Nice view on Agros and surrounding mountains, a lake and it's pretty shady for a summer evening hike.
