A short, flat walk in Athalassa National Forest Park, one of Nicosia's most valued green spaces. This 0.86-kilometre route connects through the Agios Georgios area, where paved paths, open picnic spaces, and the park's scenic lake views make it ideal for families, casual visitors, or anyone looking for a quick, accessible urban retreat. The park itself stretches across 840 hectares on the southeastern edge of the capital, with 20 kilometres of trails connecting everything from shaded forest routes to lakeside viewpoints.

The Agios Georgios walk is gentle and undemanding — essentially flat, it suits all ages and fitness levels. Around you are the park's mix of endemic and indigenous trees, and you'll likely spot other walkers and runners who come here daily. The paved surface makes it easy underfoot, though you can branch onto nearby gravel paths if you want to explore further into the park's network.

This is where Nicosia comes to breathe — not a wilderness adventure, but a honest, accessible slice of the capital's green lung. If you want a longer outing, the park's other trails (from 3 to 5+ kilometres) loop through quieter, more forested sections and past the Athalassa Dam and lake.
