Kamilostrata (right)

The Kamilostrata (right) trail is a short, mostly downhill forest walk in the Paphos Forest, setting off a couple of hundred metres north of Kykkos Monastery at around 1,180 m. The name means "camel road" in Greek, the word Cypriots use for the old pack routes that caravans once followed through the mountains. Over 4.2 km the path loses about 275 m and gains only around 120 m, finishing near 1,015 m, so it is an easy-paced outing for most walkers.

For its first 2.9 km this variant follows exactly the same line as Kamilostrata (left), heading north-west along the pine-covered slopes below the monastery. Where the two split, the right branch turns north and descends for another 1.2 km, ending a few hundred metres from where the Gnafkio, Antrouklies and Panthea trails set off. That makes it a useful connector if you want to link Kykkos with the forest walks further north.

As a linear route it needs either a car shuttle or a walk back up the same way, which turns the descent into a climb. Choose this variant for the slightly shorter walk and the connection to neighbouring trails; the left-hand branch instead continues west to a quieter finish.
