Paylias - Dyo Mouttes

A beautiful and moderately challenging circular trail in the Macharas forest near Nicosia district. This 3.5-kilometer route links Paylias to the Dyo Mouttes ("Two Peaks") and takes 1.5–2 hours to complete. The trail ascends two distinct forest peaks at 1,371m and 1,356m elevation, offering amazing panoramic views of the three major Cypriot cities—Larnaca, Nicosia, and Limassol. The forest is uniquely covered with endemic Latzia oak (Quercus alnifolia), a distinctive species found only in Cyprus. Counterclockwise hiking is recommended to manage the challenging ups and downs.
