Trails with Picnic Sites

Where to start

• Kampos tou Livadiou — a 3.3 km loop through black pine from a picnic site at 1,675 m, with drinking water and barbecues.
• Kakomallis — 2.4 km from the Kakomallis site — water, barbecues, playground — up to a fire lookout above Limassol and back.
• Xyliatos — a 3.6 km loop around the reservoir, starting from a site with water, barbecues and a playground.
• Smigies (short) — a 3.1 km Akamas loop from the Smigies site, which has barbecues but no drinking water.
• Athalassa — seven walks in Nicosia's forest park link its picnic areas, from the 1.9 km Sculpture Park loop upwards.

Good to know

Not every site has water: 37 of the 61 do, and eleven of these trails have a site with drinking water right at the trailhead. Each site has its own page under picnic sites, with altitude, capacity and what is actually there, so check before you count on a tap or a grill.

Light fires only in the built barbecues, and take your rubbish back down with you.
